Adelia is doing really well in her adoptive home and charming her adoptive parents who think she's terrific. She is a little more active than their late pug and they are thrilled with her exuberance and personality, even when she runs across the couch throwing the pillows onto the floor. When it's sunny, she loves lying in the sunbeams and playing with the refracted rays from the glass door panes. They took her up north to a family get-together one weekend this summer and she had a ball - even went swimming. She greets her adoptive mom with big kisses every time she comes into the house, proving that she's one very happy little princess.

Adelia is absolutely a lovely dog. She is gentle, loving and patient, wanting nothing more than your attention. Adelia follows me around and does not leave my side. She will whine if she can't see me. She will now ask to get up on your knee and likes to give kisses. When you come in the door, Adelia will jump on you and get all excited, running around in circles and wagging her tail. She is so cute, when she wags her tail. She likes to look out the window, if she is home. At times, I think she sits there looking out the window waiting for me to come home. It just melts my heart. She doesn't like to be left alone and I can hear her whining, when I leave. She will scratch at the door, too. Adelia has never been crated and I doubt she would adapt to that.

Adelia loves her walks, but is a very mellow dog, so about 2 or 3 blocks is enough. She likes to lay beside me on the loveseat and likes to cuddle when sleeping. She is a sound sleeper and will sleep as long as you do. She would do well in a quiet household and would be fine as the only dog.

Adelia is very finicky when doing her business outside and has to find just the right spot. She will dig a little first. She does not like the rain and needs extra encouragement to go out. You have to go out first and she will follow. Adelia doesn't play with toys, but likes to chew on her nylabone.

She had her urine tested and everything is perfect, but her pH level will need to be monitored. This is easy to do with pH test strips that are readily available. She will require some vaccinations in July 2012. Adelia will be a wonderful companion.

Adelia went for her vet checkup on March 7. She weighs 25 lbs and needs to lose about 2 lbs. She is healthy. Her eyes are dry so I will start putting lubricant eye drops two or three times per day. I have started feeding her three times per day as I add water to her food so she can get hydrated as she tends not to drink water. This is important as she had bladder stones in 2009. She will have a urinalysis completed in a few weeks. She just had her 6th birthday on January 19. She is a polite and well mannered lady. She never leaves my side even when I take her to work with me. She coexists with her foster brothers but does not engage in play. She is not interested in toys. She just wants to be near her human and be loved. She snuggles up in bed with me or lays beside me on the loveseat but doesn't really care to be picked up and cuddled. She loves to sniff everything on her walks - about 2 big blocks is her limit. She doesn't like the rain or having her nails trimmed. She didn't like it when I tried on her new dress. She was not impressed at all and gave me attitude---so typical pugish. She is delightful. She is fully house trained. She would be well suited to a calm home with lots of attention. So far, she seems fine with cats and kids (to greet) but did not like it when the 9 month old pug came for a visit. She is gentle and patient and would make anyone happy.

Adelia's owner surrendered her so she can be with someone that has more time to spend with her. She has settled in just fine at her new foster home. She is a quiet girl who likes to follow you around. She is always just one step behind. She has adjusted to her foster brothers. Adelia and the resident pug are very similar in their nature. They are just content to be with you and have your undivided attention. She wiggles her tail when she greets you. The two of them are laying down near me or on my lap. She will bark when her big foster brother does. She likes her walks but I don't think she would be up for a really long walk. She is now on a raw diet as she had bladder stones in the past. She really likes it although she is a bit picky about her treats. She will have her checkup with the vet shortly. She is lovely.
