Bamboo - 7 year old male

Have you ever seen a more contented pug?

Bamboo is Adopted - August 6

I receive the following from Bamboo's new adopter:

Hi, Larry:
You have no idea how happy Bamboo has made our family. He is everything you described on the website and more. It has only been a week, but it feels like he has always been here. He is polite and well mannered, he rarely barks, he hasn't had any accidents in the house, and walks like a gentleman off leash, rarely leaving my side and most of all, he LOVES the kids!!. He is even friendly with the Missy the Cat.

His favourite spot by far is snuggled up to one of us on the couch (he doesn't seen to mind who), and will spend most of the afternoon snoozing with his head on someone's lap. With three children, there is always someone available to rub his ears.

I honestly don't think you could have sent us a more perfect little pug.
Thank you so much!!

Hilary

PS: Friday, August 17 is Bamboo's 7th birthday and he has received the best gift of all - a loving family and a forever home
Happy Gotcha Day - BB

Whose lap will I go on next?

Bamboo's almost adopted - August 4

Bamboo had a very successful home visit on Saturday. The whole neighbourhood was excited to know Bamboo was coming (it's a small and close community). We have a couple of days to let everyone conisder before the final adoption on Monday. We'll have a happy tail then.

We are seeking a home for Bamboo

The person we had selected to adopt Bamboo has had a sudden job offer overseas and does not think it fair to adopt Bamboo at this time. Therefore if you are interested in bringing this lovely little pug into your life, send an email to rescue@pugalug.com

Bamboo is ready to sit contentedly by your side

Bamboo is a very friendly, easy going pug that you will fall in love with the minute you see him. He is content to lay by your side as you work at a desk or watch television. He will watch you until his eyes will close as his head bops up and down. He needs to have lots of attention. This may be due simply to his transition to a new environment or he needs to eventually be assured that, when you leave, everything is normal.

He is indifferent to cats and good with other dogs. The foster person feels Bamboo would be best in a home as the only dog bit we will consider applicants with another, easy going dog.

He is great with children and loves the attention that they give him. He is housetrained, is up to date on his shots and in good health. He has been on a grain free food "Barking at the Moon" and the skin and ear infections have all cleared up. They may have been due to stress or allergens. It is recommended that he stay on a grain free diet.

There have been no signs of food agression - more of hording aruond his bowl when he eats. But he does not approach the other dog's bowl when he is done. Nor does he get agressive when treats are being handed out - he just waits his turn. He does make a little growling sound as he eats. And he does not like to be crated.

All in all he is your typical, lovable pug and will ensure your years of enjoyment if you were to give him a permanent home.

Foster Update - June 15

Just a quick update on this wonderful little pug I am fostering. He is just a doll. Such a sweet little boy. All he wants to do is be with me. He loves the shower he will jump in and just sit there just to be close to me. I have been speaking with Blanche about the food aggression behavior, I am not so sure it is food aggressiveness or just habit at this point. I have segregated him from the others at feeding time and he still will jump at the wall or the closes piece of furniture than just eat away grumbling the whole time. He only jumps once and than eats away. I am starting to wonder if it is just not out of excitement that it is feeding time. I really don't see it being an issue either way.

Introduction, June 4

Bamboo is a 7 year old neutered male that is being surrender to us from the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society along with Mootoo. Both are owner surrenders

They will be coming into our care on the weekend. He reportedly had ear and eye infection along with skin and coat problems. He has been treated over the last 2 weeks and there has been improvement. His is missing some teeth so he is unable to pull about 1.5 inches of his tongue back into his mouth so it is quite dried out but no major problems with the tongue he can still eat.
