Summer Update - June 26 Last weekend Sunday was great so we spent a few hours at the beach with the kids, Scooby and Bernie. I thought I would send you a couple of pics of our little man. He absolutely loved the water and we played with a water ball. At first he was a little nervous when his paws touched the water but then he wandered in again and absolutely loved it. He is no problem in the boat either. He wears his life jacket with pride and actually sleeps in the kids laps when in the boat. |
Bernie's Christmas Gift- Dec. 24 Bernie is having a blast as we are with him. Yesterday I took him to work. He was amazing and made some people's Christmas'. He is such a calm dog and so kind and gentle. We visited all 3 of our programs on site and he sat in some of the people's laps- I have never seen them smile so much (most of these individuals are non verbal and developmentally delayed).Others we set up a chair with Bernie in my lap and them sitting beside me and some cuddled him others kissed him and a lot just patted him and kept smiling . Some who speak very little were actually trying to say his name. Before we left one of the programs one lady got down on all fours and kissed Bernie's back. It brought tears to my eyes how happy he made these individuals and he was amazing. We talked after our visit and he may visit once per month and be a pet therapy dog. (works for them and he gets lots of loving!!!) What a great day yesterday was. Bernie was amazing. (Bernie the wonder dog!!) Just wanted to share this amazing story of what a great dog Bernie is. We love him soooo much. |

Bernie Finds a Forever Home - November 15 Bernie has joined his new family, Nancy, Jim, Adam and Ryan. He also has a fur sister, named Scooby. She is 7 yrs. old and was rescued when she was 3. They had another pug that lived to be 16 yrs. old and missed having more than one pug. Scooby was a great fur sister and should enjoy having Bernie to keep her company. The family couldn't wait to come and get Bernie and take him home. Bernie's new mom has grown up with pugs
and her parents have two pugs of their own. Bernie will get to have lots of fun times with his extended pug family.
Bernie will get to live the cottage life, next summer. What a great future!
See you at Pugclaus, Bernie! |

Requirements: Bernie has had his vet visit, is microchipped and ready to find his forever home. He weighs 25 lbs. and could lose another pound or two, at the most. Bernie is a great pug. He is very sweet and not dominant at all. He can be a little shy, but comes around. His favourite toys are the squeeky ones. He likes to hold them in his mouth and make them squeek. This is a pretty smart boy and he loves to play games with people, like hiding around a corner and then running up to you, just to take off and have you chase him. When he is done playing, he will curl up with his humans. He is happy to sleep with his humans, too. Bernie will bark a bit, but it is very quiet and more to get you to play. He likes the park and is use to walks, as well.
He would do well in a home with kids, dogs and cats. He is a loveable, handsome guy. |

Introduction - October 18 Bernie is a 2 1/2 year old male. He has been to the vet recently and is up-to-date with his vaccinations, etc. When he arrived, he was a little shy, but soon was wiggling his tail and checking out the house and my pugs. He had a quick sniff of my cat and then was on to more exploring. While he is getting a general assessment of his personality and needs, we will work on dropping his weight a bit. He is around 28 pounds. |
