360 pugs rescued since October, 2005
Caesar (aka Pizza Boy)
Caesar has gone to live with a lovely couple who are home all day and enjoy the outdoor walks (just like Caesar does). They had a cocker spaniel for 13 years and, after a period of absence, wanted another dog in their life. Caesar will be joining an 8 year old cat who they rescued as a kittin, two senior parrots who whistle when the dogs come in and a little finch. Caesar's new mom - Kathy - wil be sending us some pictures and an update in a couple of days.

Accepting Applications Now - March 28

He will be going in for a vet checkup and neutering. However, we are beginning to look at applications now because we want him settled into his new forever home soon to make the transition easier.

His foster mom reports:
"The dog is just spectacular, almost perfect in terms of rescue really. He is beautiful in appearance, social without being overly clingy, comfortable in new places and environments, good around dogs, although he doesn’t enjoy them, just avoids them really, appropriate with cats and around treats.

The only hang ups are that he isn’t well crate trained, so he tends to bark if left in the crate. We’ve been leaving him loose, and crating him for his meals, and he is comfortable with that. He is also getting better at going in the crate for dinner. He will, once you put the bowl in the crate and shut the door of the crate growl and guard the food. Not sure if it’s human or because the other dogs were near, I’ll test it more tonight for you. Not an issue for me at all, he’s fine when you open the door after he’s eaten and comes right out. I don’t allow the dogs near him during meal time anyway.

He will need some training (he loves chicken wieners). Otherwise, he’s a wonderful happy and beautiful boy who is just so so easy to have around. He’d be a good sports dog, as he is very agile and athletic."

Introduction, March 24

Ceasar is a 5 year old fawn pug and companion of rescue pug Oscar. His owner had to give him into our care because her health issues meant she could not give them the care he needed. He has been well looked after and is good with children. We will shortly have photos and further descriptions from his foster mom.
