Cora - 3-4 year old fawn female |
Gone to a loving home - January 28, 2008 Cora's new family picked her up today. She will be living with a lovely family in Mt. Albert, Ont. She will have two human siblings, Hannah and Quinn, and an 8 year old Standard Schnauser brother, Mozart. They will send us pictures of her new life shortly.I knew within moments of meeting this family that if they said "yes" to
Cora, she would be placed with them. She has an enormous fully fenced backyard to romp in and will be surrounded
with love and affection. Her new mom and dad, Jack and Judy, are very excited to add this precious girl to their family. |

Cora originally came into foster care in the spring of 2006. Here first adoption did not work out and she was adopted by her foster mother. Unfortunately, due to a family crisis, Cora has again come back into rescue. She is 3 or 4 years old (we don't know her exact age as she was a stray when originally rescued) and a BIG girl. She's a tad overweight, but it also just a tall and hefty girl. She has quite good manners and very good recall. However, she does suffer from separation anxiety and is somewhat fearful of men. She would do best in a home with someone around alot and who is willing to work with her on her separation anxiety. She will mess in the house when left alone due to her anxiety, but is otherwise quite well house broken. She cannot tolerate being crated or shut into or out of a room. She is more tolerant of being gated off, but still becomes very anxious. She is also quite anxious in the car. We are currently working on this. She's a bit of a barker so wouldn't do well in an apartment or attached house situation. She is dog and cat friendly, good with children and has a delightful, fun loving personality. She is playful and energetic and loves to be with her people. She will need to bring her vetting up to date before adoption, but that should be taken care of shortly. |
