It's hard to believe that it has been just a month since Harvey came to our home. Everything has gone so well that it feels like he has always been a part of our family. He is a very loving little dog and wants to be with us all the time. He loves to steal kisses whenever he gets the chance and has the cutest face that no-one can resist. Evenings are this adopted mom's favourite time of day since he just wants to cuddle.

Since Harvey is still a puppy, he has an endless suppy of energy. Thankfully there are 5 year old twins who just love to chase and play with him. They will even play hide & seek together! Harvey and our son have become the best of friends, so much so that Harvey goes looking for him when he gets up in the morning for playtime. Our other pug, Milo, has adjusted to having a new friend. I don't think he really knew how to handle the ball of energy that invaded his space. He's now teaching Harvey all his habits and they spend a lot of time wrestling and playing with each other. We have more doggie toys than Harvey knows what to do with, except he thinks that they all belong to him!

Harvey's foster mom (and family) did a fantastic job with our little guy. His fur has grown in nicely and you would never know that he had a broken leg. Thank you to Cathy and Pugalug for choosing us to be his furever family.

Harvey has settled in really well to his furever home, at least partially because the adoptive family is similar to the foster family. He follows around their 5 year old son and cuddles and jumps into bed with him and his twin sister. Harvey is great company for his 6 year old pug brother Milo who lost his best friend dog in the summer from cancer. Harvey already loves Milo and sits beside him on the couch or kitchen rug, two of his new favourite spots. More often than not, he can be found on his loving adoptive mom's lap. His new family will be sending in an updated Happy Tail in the new year, but in the meantime thought we'd all enjoy this picture of Harvey and Milo drawn by his new skin-sister.

The little peanut is wonderful, such a lovey dovey little guy! He is definitely a little pup, full of energy and spring! Any potty accidents are now rare, but he does have his set potty schedule, so it is important to be diligent around these times, as he is still young.

Harvey came to Pugalug Rescue at 7 months, after being hit by a car. The owner had got Harvey from an ad on the Internet. Harvey had a severe skin infection called demodex mange and a leg that was fractured, as a result of the car accident. We named him Harvey which means "eager for battle; strong and worthy", so meaningful and descriptive of a little guy who has already been through so much in his short little lifetime.

All of the crustiness has gone and he is really growing a beautiful coat of fur. It is important that he is kept on a high quality food, to keep his immune system high and him healthy. He has also gotten bigger! His X-rays look great and his leg bone has really grown around the plate. His limping has subsided, but I suspect with the cold weather we might see it on occasion. It is very important that his forever owners keep him at a healthy weight and that they are aware that there may be occasions of him limping or favouring the leg that was broken.

Harvey is great with children, loves playing with them and our other little puggies in the home. We would love for his forever home to have kids and another dog(s). They would have to be okay with his high energy level and playfulness.

The best home for Harvey would be a single family dwelling, no apartments, as he needs easy access to outside, especially during the transition period. He has frequent potty breaks. It would be best if there was someone home most of the day. Harvey loves sleeping in the big bed with us and when we go out we still put him in his exercise pen, because he is still a puppy. However, we don?t want Harvey penned for hours and hours.

He loves to play and then crash on the couch to snuggle. Come 8pm he's quite content to hit the couch and watch T.V. Harvey is always with us in the house, our little shadow. He likes to always be able to see you. All the Pugs are in the family room with us in the evening watching t.v. or a movie. Harvey loves going for walks, but can still pull quite a bit, so must wear a harness when being taken for a walk. He will automatically run to other dogs, so needs always be on a lead and supervised.

Harvey is such a precious little angel and need lots of love and attention. He has such a wonderful little personality and the cutest little face, with that little pink tongue sticking out just a touch. He needs a family that will be willing and dedicated to continue with his training and make sure that he is kept at optimal health. In return, you will be blessed with so much love and big Harvey kisses and snuggles.

Harvey went to our vet a couple of weeks ago for his follow up X-rays and I got a big "keep doing what you are doing" :)) His X-rays look great and his leg bone has really grown and around the plate. Poor little guy has so many pins and the plate is so big and right up to the joint. His limping has subsided, but I suspect with the cold weather we might see it on occasion.

We are waiting for the next running of the Pugs, because without a doubt, Harv will run the course 3 times and still win :) Our little bundle of energy, continues to be such a bundle of joy! He absolutely adores my two little boys and his foster siblings. He and Luna have established a special little "wrestling relationship". Harv has also graduated into sleeping in the big bed :), but have caught him a couple of times sneak away from us and go in and cuddle up with one of the kids :)

We are close to finishing his second round of medication for his mange and then will reassess whether he needs another trial, but his coat is gorgeous, although his little mask is still forming and some more growth around his legs, it is coming in.

After my last update about a few little infection pustules on his leg, our vet put him back on his antibiotics, but double the dose twice a day and it is ALL cleared up! He is definitely not limping as much, still lifts his little leg up once and awhile. He is definitely a little pup, full of energy and spring!

His potty accidents have decreased and he had two milestones the other day and ran to the door and rang his bell (like his foster siblings), to go out.

We plan on taking him to Pugoween in Cambridge for a short appearance tomorrow (Sunday), as it is being held in his honour.

Harvey is doing wonderfully well. He had his cast taken off on Saturday. The vet says he is doing really well and that you wouldn't even know that he had broken his leg. His skin is also clearing up nicely. Still working on his potty training - he is about 60/40 now. He is such a little joy and full of so much love and puggy kisses. He had his first trip to the cottage this weekend and loved it. He is great in the car.

Last week a call came in to Pugalug Rescue from the London Veterinary Emergency Clinic. They had a 7 month old pug puppy who was brought in after being hit by a car. The owner had got the pug from an ad on the Internet. The pug has a severe skin infection, demodex mange and a leg that was fractured as a result of a car accident. This little guy is now in his new foster home recovering from surgery and being treated for his skin condition. He has already been through so much in his short little lifetime but you would not know it by his loving and super friendly personality. He is such a wonderful little pug and is great with children, loves playing with them and our other little puggies in the home. He is very much "puppy" still and has lots of energy. He is very bright, responds when you call him and is doing well with his potty training. He is a real pleasure to have around.

Harvey had a visit with his Vet today and had his bandage changed, he is progressing well.
