Adopter's Happy Tail - July 9th We cannot say it enough: we are truly blessed to have this little honey in our lives! She and Paco are having so much fun running the Pugtona in the backyard, and snuggling on the couch. She seems to love going on her walks and even helps us put her harness on! She has made herself right at home on the big bed (we have discovered that she likes to stretch out to fill all available space - and some unavailable space) and wakes up in the morning with kisses for us. Thanks so much to the Pugalug group for bringing this little sweetie in from the shelter and to Candace for the wonderful care she provided Honey - we definitely think that the transition into our home has been so successful because of the love she has been shown. Honey will be going to a loving home - July 6th Honey has been adopted by Tracy, Charles and pug Paco. Here is a little slide show they prepared of Honey's first day. |

Send us an email if you would like to adopt Honey and we will review your applicationClick here to see Honey's slide show presentation on what a great little dog she is Foster Mom Candace prepared video of Honey |

Foster Update, June 1 Honey had her dental work done today. She had a good cleaning and only needed two small teeth removed. It was pretty minor surgery, so she should be fine right away. She was micro-chipped, too.Her bloodwork was all great and the heartworm test was negative. She appears to be a healthy, well cared for cutie-pie. Honey should do well in most homes. She probably shouldn't be with a dominant female.
Other than that, I think she would get along with cats, dogs and children. |

Foster Update, May 26 Honey went for a vet check. The vet was impressed with how healthy she looks . She has been spayed and well cared for, in the past. Honey was as sweet as could be and got a lot of attention from the staff. She appears to be around 8 years old, although she has been acting more like four or five. Her teeth will need a good cleaning, but the vet is optomistic about her keeping them all. She will be going in for her dental work on June 1st. If all goes well, Honey will be ready for the adoption process. Honey is doing great, in her foster home. She is house-trained and knows how to sit. She gets along very well, with the pugs, cats and humans. When at the park, she socializes with the other dogs, children and adults. She likes to run and play, but has a calm manner. Honey really is a honey of a dog and would fit into any type of family. |

Foster Update, May 21 Her foster mom has changed her name to Honey Bea. She is definitely not a Golden Girl and buzzed from one pug to another at the Pugtoria pugalug. We will have photos in the Photo Album section later in the week. |
Update, May 20 Bea has been kindly taken into the foster home of Candace, Mookie (pictured above with Bea), Salvador and Moocha. Bea is definitely not a senior being closer to 4 and 6 years old. Her paperwork indicates that she has not been spayed and, although vaccinated, she does not have tags. So that will be 2 things we will be following up with.On close inspection, their are a lot of teeth packed into her mouth. She will need a very good cleaning. She has very, very soft fur, appears to be house broken and gets along well with other dogs (both at Blanche and Candace's homes) |
Introduction, May 19 Bea is a pug mix who was found wandering the streets of Sarnia. She was brought to the Sarnia Humane Society where she received her initial vetting. Bea may be around 8 - 10 years old. She appears to have no vision or hearing loss nor arthritis. Her teeth are covered in tartar and will need a good cleaning. The folks in Sarnia say she is super-friendly and gets along well with dogs. The Sarnia Humane Society has surrendered Bea to us for fostering and adoption. She will have an initial assessment by Blanche this weekend. |
