Lenny - 9 month old Puggle (Pug/Beagle mix) |
Buddy - chillin on his new forever couch |
Lenny has been adopted - Dec 13 Buddy Bear (aka Lenny) has found a new home thanks to Dagmar, National Rescue Chair, Pug Club of Canada. Here is a message from his new guardian: I picked Lenny up from Dagmar on Thursday the 13th of December, and he was wonderful in the car ride from Caledon to Niagara Falls. He is perfect on the car. He gets along very well with the other furry members in the family including my Pug X Sandy and my Rottweiler puppy Shelby. He would not respond to his old name once we got him so we renamed him Buddy Bear which he instantly recognized. He is a wonderful companion and never leaves my side, ever. The next few days should show more of his personality emerging |

Foster Update - Nov 29 He's looking great. Other than the eyes being a bit red, you'd never know…..those cherry eyes covered over a third of each eye…..Dr. Wicki did a fab job!!! He seems good with all dogs (Dr. Wicki has a black great dane, and he was in the office the other day), large or small. Ignores cats, a little shy with children at first but quickly warms up to them. All in all, he's doing great. He ran around so much, his boy parts swelled a bit (post-neuter), so they had to put him in a crate to chill out…..so he's obviously feeling |

Lenny - Introduction, Nov 27 When we had to close our intake because we had reached capacity then Dagmar Skala, the National Rescue Chair of the
Pug Club of Canada, offered to take in any pugs we got calls for. Well, no sooner had she offered then the first one
came. And it is a very good thing Dag was there when you read Lenny's story - a puggle that wasn't wanted. Here is Dagmar's initial report: --9 mos old Puggle (PugxBeagle), rescued from home who did not care for him, and left him outside all the time. He was flea infested, sores on his back from the bites, had ear mites and ear infection, and needed eye surgery. He is recovering well at the vet clinic, and there will be no longterm complications from any of the neglect he has suffered! He gets along very well with other small dogs and is ok with cats! Being an outdoor dog, housebreaking will be his main training issue……but he is a smart, sweet boy that is calm, enjoys car rides and loves attention!!! He does have a bit of the “beagle voice”, but is not prone to incessant barking. |
