Adopter Update - January 20 Miss Lucy is being just about the best little dog that there ever was!! She loves her new back yard, and racing around it with her new sister. They have been having a great time deciding just who is going to be "Alpha Female"? Yesterday it was Lucy, but this morning Miss Tilly has decided that she can "fight" back, and not be cowed. It's really quite funny to watch them. They both slept in their new bed last night, and there was not a sound out of either of them until I got up at 6:00 this morning (I didn't want to have Lucy go to long on her first morning here). She was great (no accidents), and was delighted to see me. Took them for a walk yesterday, she was marvelous. Hope Tilly learns to walk that nicely some day!! |
Lucy Adopted January 16 Lucy came through her spay and dental with flying colours and is now ready to start her new life. She will be living with NancyJean, David and pug sister Matilda. Lucy already enjoys her new back yard, walks and stay home mom. |

Little Lucy Looking for Love Lucy is a delightful little girl. She still hasn't barked (I wish my girls would follow her lead) and walks like a dream on the lead. She still prefers to 'hold it' until we get home so her new family will have to have a secure outdoor area for her to 'go'.She is still very needy and will require a home with somebody home most of the time and a structured routine to continue her outdoor toilet success. She is good with other dogs and enjoys snuggling up in our pugpile. Once Lucy is spayed in early January, she will be ready to begin her new life. |

Foster Update - Nov 18 Lucy went to the vet on Thursday. She was very well mannered during the checkup and very stoic when she received her rabies shot, had blood drawn and was microchipped. She is currently in season and will be spayed just after Christmas.Lucy has only had a couple of accidents since she arrived and only when I've been out. They appear to be caused by a little anxiety rather than housetraining issues. Once she fully settles in I'm sure they will stop completely. She walks beautifully on a lead and enjoys sniffing every blade of grass. She still doesn't eliminate on a walk, but with continued 'training' from my gang, I'm sure she'll 'join in the fun' before long. 'My shadow' loves to cuddle with people and other pugs, eats well and knows how to sit. I'm still waiting for her to bark. She is going to make a wonderful companion. |
Introduction Lucy is an intact female who came to us through an owner surrender. She reportedly has house training problems and her foster guardian will be focussing on that issue. The transport volunteer said that she was well behaved in the long drive to her foster home. We will have updates and photos shortly |
