Our little Energizer Pug gets a home Maddy has been adopted to a wonderful family with two children and no other pets. She will be the centre of attention and will be given all the love she needs. Maddy's new adoptive Mommy is a domestic engineer so Maddy will never be alone. Maddy is just a bundle of energy and needed a home with the same kind of energy. She will have no problems fitting in with her new family. We will have photo's to follow... |
Adopter Requirements Well I am happy to say our 4yr old Maddy is ready for her new adoptive home. She is back to her busy little self after her surgeries. Maddy is a small dog with a huge personality, who has adapted very well in her foster home, and is under the impression she owns the place. She is the feisty little flower among my old men who keeps them young and Beau will be heart broken when she leaves. She is a busy little girl who is a loveable, energetic cuddle bug that is always on the go and needs a home that is equally as busy. Maddy does get anxious when left alone. She gives a new meaning to the word shadow but with some positive reinforcement, this will be very easy to over come. She will need a home where someone is home most of the time. She may only have one eye but she sleeps with it open while snoring like a freight train. Maddy does well with most children and will also be okay in a home with another dog who is not aggressive or intimidating but she needs to be given the feeling of security without competition. She is a curious but well-behaved dog who is terrified of cats, does not like closed doors, eating alone or cold and rainy weather. Maddy loves to chew her bones, go for walks and cuddle. She is very fussy when it comes to her treats. Maddy is excellent on the leash when walked alone. I believe Maddy will do well in a home that gives her the opportunity to be herself and the puppy she was never able to be. |

Maddy - Foster Update Oct 26th Maddy went for her teeth surgery. She did well considering she has lost the 6 bottom teeth between her canines and both bottom canines are chipped. They were all very loose and really did not need much force to come out. The roots were not deep so she should not have too much pain. They did not remove these canines because of her age and the fact that there are no cavities forming. Apparently she has quit a few chipped teeth. As well her gums and teeth have pockets, like gingivitis. These pockets form between the teeth and gums where they separate. There is a procedure to fill those pockets but it is very expensive and they do not offer it due to the amount of money it costs. The Doctor does however feel with Maddy's age and a good diet this should not be a problem for her. Maddy will be on antibiotics for the next 7 days twice a day with two pain killers to give her as well. Maddy has taken her pain killer and her antibiotic like a champ this morning. She is eating and going to the bathroom fine. I have added water to her food and will continue to do so for the next couple days. I take her back in 10 days for a check up. I will keep you posted. |
Maddy - Foster Update Oct. 9th Well she is coming along fine. She has quite the little attitude and is running the household. Still suffering a bit from anxiety when my Mother is not around but is coming along nicely. I am taking her to the vet this week for a checkup and possibly to book her teeth cleaning. I really feel Maddy would do well in a home that already has a dog or someone who is home all the time. |
Maddy - Foster Update Sept. 13 Maddy's blood and fecal tests came back positive. She went to Pet Vet Hospital on Lakeshore in Mississauge where she had her spaying, hernia repair and micro chip. Maddy came through with flying colours and is resting peacefully back in her foster home Next month she will be going in for her dental work. |
Maddy - Foster Update August 26 Maddy had a good checkup at the Pet Vet Clinic. Her hips and joints are good and she weighs 17 pounds. She has no vision in the eye that was poked with the stick but it doesn't bother her. She is still producing tears so that is not a problem. The vet suspects she has had at least one litter. There is some swelling in the vaginal area which suggests she just came out of heat or is getting ready to go into heat. She also has a hernia that needs to be repaired. Her teeth in the back are very tartar covered and one is cracked so most likely needs to be removed. They suggested doing the spay & hernia repair first and don't want to put her through the dental at that time. They feel it's far too much for her. They are going to do a complete blood panel when she goes for her spay. Maddy is scheduled to go in on Sept 12 for her spaying, micro-chip and hernia repair. |
Maddy - Foster Update August 26 Maddy seems to be adjusting well. We bathed her and taken her out for a walk. Beau doesnt really seem to be effected by her presence and Dante wanted to play with her. Maddy is being picky with her food but has taken treats as well as begged for chips. Ahhh those pug traits. She will be sleeping in the spare room with my cousin until she becomes a bit more comfortable with my boys. Maddy has taken to following my mom around. Currantly she is cuddled up to my yonger cousin and is enjoying every moment of it. She is extremely sweet tempered and just wants to be cuddled, kissed and held. And Maddy behaved well with my yonger nieces and nephew, so she is good with children Maddy's eye is an old injury from 2003 when she poked it with a stick. She will be going to the vet on August 28th for her check up. |
