Milo is Adopted - April 26 Our dear sweet little Milo will always have a piece of our hearts, he had such a wonderful impact on our lives, but I am so happy to say that he has now found his forever home :) Milo immediately made himself at home exploring his new home and the backyard. He loves playing with his new little owners (the kids) and constantly smothers them with kisses. His new owners are fantastic people and are working really hard to help Milo adapt to his new forever home. They bought him a new bed and put his toys in it. He knows it's his bed and will use in during the day when he wants to. He also likes to snuggle and feels comfortable sleeping in their laps. He got a lot of backyard time this weekend -- he was sniffing around, marking, sunning himself. Milo and his new little Pug Brother Harvey had a brief little 'pug out' in the yard -- barking and 'wrestling' with new mommy Laura. Milo let Laura me give him a few good belly rubs and then he spent some time chewing a bone. He found his gorilla (his favourite toy :) and threw it around a bit too. The children like him very much and Milo has also met many of the neighbours on his already many walks and he lent a paw with the community clean up too! I know that Milo is going to do just fine and continue to adjust really well to his new forever home!
Thank-you Laura, Michael, Children and Harvey for welcoming Milo into your home and surrounding him with
continued love and attention. |

Foster Update - April 8 Milo is continuing to make great progress! He loves his walks now! He still gets really excited around food and this is something his forever home will continue to have to work with. His ears are clearing up nicely and he lets me put his drops in, no problem. At the beginning of the week Willy was trying to play with Milo, but Milo was not sure what to do, but a couple of days later when Willy went to play again, Milo responded this time.Today Milo actually intiated play and he and Willy were chasing each other around the coffee table, too cute!!
All of our neighbours have fallen in love with Milo, (how can you not:) and he plays up to all the attention
lots of kisses and tail wagging. |

Foster Update - March 29 It has been a week today, that little Milo has come into our lives :) We are super proud of Milo and all of his progress and accomplishments in just 1 week! He is such a smart little Puggy!!! His house training is going really well. When we first got him he had a couple of little accidents, but definitely not all the time. His last little piddle in the house was 3 days ago :) I went out for a couple of hours yesterday and when I got home, no accidents!! He now goes to the door when he wants to go out and is loving his walks. He has now started to consistently do his business on his walks as well. When Milo does sniff around the house we redirect him and he stops.Milo's breathing is so much better. When we go on walks now, he does not get all out of breath. When he gets really excited especially around feeding time, his breathing is a bit heavier, but nothing like a week ago :) We went to the vet this week and Milo got a clean bill of health :)) with the exception of his ears, which are infected and we are treating now. His teeth, eyes and everything else are great! He also lost 3 pounds, weighing in at 27 pounds now. We are still working on feeding issues. Although his begging has decreased, he still is very protective of his food and needs to be supervised while eating with Willy by his side. He is used to being free fed, this has stopped and he gets 2 meals a day and treats :) Milo is very loveable always giving kisses and follows me where ever I go. When he becomes a little too excited
he will nibble on your ear a bit, but just to play, not to hurt. |

Foster Update - March 24 Our sweet little Milo is doing really well! He has adjusted very quickly into our home :) He is a beautiful Pug, and his little tongue peaks out just a bit. He loves to smother us all with kisses and loves our little guy Alexander. He is learning how to walk on a leash and now gets really excited when he sees us pull out his harness. He is also went peepy for the first time today on his lunch time walk!! Normally he just toodles along behined Willy and saves his business for our side and back deck.Milo has no problem eating :) We are working with him on his begging. He puts on quite the show, even spinning around in circles :)) Also he prefers to get his water intake from the snow on the side deck and occasionally from his water dish :) He know his name and is very good at coming when you call him and with re-directions. His breathing is pretty heavy especially when we go for walks and when he gets excited or anxious about a new stituation. With more excercise and diet I am sure that this will improve. We will also be visiting Roger, our Vet in a couple of days. We have noticed his breath is a lot better since his diet has been changed and his teeth look good. |
Introduction - March 22 Milo is an owner surrender who is reportedly not well house trained. We know he is dog and children friendly, up to date on his shots. He weighs in at 30lbs - so Milo's foster mom will work at getting his weight down and assessing his house training. We wil have an update in a couple of days. |
