Myrtle (a.k.a Myrtle Squirtle the Tumbleweed)

Myrtle - Adopted December 10, 2006

Myrtle was transported from Prairie Pugs Rescue in Auburn, Kansas to the parking lot of Sherway Gardens in Mississauga. At that point loving hands transferred her to her new foster parents. Something in this sweet faced touched them because Myrtle has been adopted by Joan and Jamie. Jamie sent me the following; photos to come:

"Larry, Tumbleweed is a blast, she's so funny, tottering around, saying hi and wagging her tail all day long. She's so sweet, everyone who meets her loves her instantly. Her past life breaks my heart every time I think of it, so I try not to dwell on it too much. She's now in a loving home, filled with other flatfaces (and not so flat, that is me and Joan :-)) who already have bought her one amazing new pink coat, and have others in mind of course, cherish her, cuddle her constantly, and welcome the kisses she gives."

Foster Update, Dec 6

Myrtle got to participate in Puppy Social at dog school. She is so pleasant. The instructors and I decided that she should be called Tumbleweed, because she just kind of blows around slowly and bounces off of things and continues on her way. We were busy training our own dogs, doing work and stepping around Myrtle as she’d totter through, then train, then move away again as the Tumbleweed doddered by again…all the time her little tail going and quite pleased with things.

Foster Update, Dec 3

Myrtle quite enjoys wandering about. When she runs into something living, person - dog - cat she wags her tail happily. Then, if they pet her, she licks them, and continues on her way. She is an absolute angel. As kind and gentle as can be. She quite likes to gnaw on the end of a BBQ Rib bone as you hold it...(oh stop panicking people, she has 1 1/2 teeth left in her head for gawd's sake :-) and she rather enjoys bananas as well. She is eating all her meals, and prefers to eat in the peace and quiet of her kennel. She finds any type of height obstacle, including a step up of less than 2" to be difficult. She will put her feet up on a step of regular height, but will not attempt to climb up yet.
