Oddie - 1 year old male |
|
Adopted - August 30 Oddie has gone to his new forever home. He was very excited to go back to Christina's house yesterday remembering his first visit and the treats he was greeted with. Christina & her 3 yr old Yorkie, Alex, were anxiously awaiting Oddie's arrival outside when we got there yesterday. Oddie in turn ran readily up to them wagging his tail happily.Oddie will be living downtown in Yorkville with Christina and Alex. Christina had two pugs - Lizzie and Winnie - and has been a frequent pugalugger. Unfortunately both Lizzie and Winnie passed away recently after long illnesses. Christina felt she really missed a pug in her life and that Oddie was the right pug for her. Oddie will be living a life full of love, affection and caring. Christina said he had lots of walks yesterday & this morning. Oddie had a pretty good night but was a bit restless with the new noises. He & Alex played yesterday and traded off bones without any problems. I am really missing the little guy and his happy, affectionate, easygoing nature but know he will have a great life with Christina, Alex and the extended family. |

Foster Update - July 29 Adoption Fee: $500 Applications are closed - August 16 His requirements are:
Oddie is a loving, sweet-natured and fun loving young boy. He has a gentle and kind nature but does get excited when people come home or at feeding time resulting in him nibbling gently on fingers - continued work with him will correct this over time. Oddie loves to have a toy thrown for him so he can fetch it back & play tug. He also loves to play with other dogs. He will bark and play growl to get their attention and to encourage play. He is not aggressive nor has he shown signs of dominance in his foster home in spite of being intact - rather he is bold, happy and fun with no sign of panic when multiple dogs are playing with him. He will swing his butt around, nibble and tug on the other dogs in a good natured, relaxed manner. Oddie loves to run around the home up and over people and furniture as he and the other dogs play. Oddie has always slept with his people and has limited crate experience during the day only according to his former owner. Oddie is still very much a puppy and wants to run and play for hours so another dog of a similar activity level would be best. |
Foster Update - July 29 Poor Oddie is feeling a little under the weather this afternoon post-neuter - he looks ever so sad... but he is fine. All his pre-op blood work was good with all parameters in the normal range. He is moving about fine but is definitely looking for sympathy & lots of snuggles he was a bit stressed being left and put in a crate. When I got to the vet he started to howl when he heard me speaking to the receptionist I could hear him in the waiting room. He cried part way home then leaned into my hand and closed his eyes - enjoying being back with me... Oddie continues to be a very sweet-natured, loving, happy and fun loving puggie - except for today of course! Oddie still needs to be microchipped. This will be done in the next couple of weeks. |
Introduction, July 10th There is a new boy in town - named Odie. Odie is a 1 yr old (birthday July 6) owner surrender. He is a happy, exuberant little guy. His first night was a bit stressful for him - he is having a hard time relaxing - just nervous- but he ate well, played lots and kissed even more - he will do fine. Odie is a great little guy - very very sweet.Odie is a healthy & intact male. He currently has a bit of an ear infection he is getting drops for.
He is a typical funny, crazy puppy with energy to burn. He was leaping furniture and other pugs all evening.
At one point outside he ran and leaped on Sophie's back, all four legs spread in a belly flopping kamikazi attack....
he leaped off and continued on his way, circling around for another go leaving a shocked and stunned Sophie in his wake -
it was hysterical. |
