360 pugs rescued since October, 2005
Parker (aka Bobo)

Adopted, May 13, 2007

Fostering Jasper and having him leave made us realize that we really wanted to permanently add a second young dog to our family. Caring for Bobo while foster dad James was at a conference reaffirmed this desire. It was immediately clear that Bobo was a perfect fit. She and Gertie, our one-year-old pug, get along amazingly.

Bobo is extremely clever, playful, and active. She’s surprised us with how agile she is; she leaps, jumps, and pounces just like a cat. Due to these reasons, and because of her unique colouring, we’ve decided to call her Parker after the tiger in “Life of Pi.” She’s a little firecracker with a lot of personality, and we feel very fortunate to have her join us.

Thanks so much to James for saving Bobo/Parker and nursing her back to health. When everyone else had given up hope, James continued to lovingly care for her. Without James, Parker literally wouldn’t be with us today.

We’ll be sure to update everyone on Parker’s progress. We’ll be taking her to the vet’s this week, and we’re crossing our fingers that the demodex is completely gone.

Foster Update, May 6

Bobo joined a group of pugs for a birthday party on a sunny, Sunday afternoon. She kept busy, moving quickly for person to person, pug to pug, and cookie to cookie. You can see the difference in her coat and disposition.

She's a healthy, happy dog and thanks to foster volunteer James for the work he put in to bringing Cuddle Muffin back to health. We will have an update in 2 weeks on the mange condition.

Foster Update, April 27

The spaying went well, no problems. Treatment continues for her mange.

Foster Update, April 25

Bobo is going in today for her spaying. We will get an update in a couple of days on her progress

Foster Update, April 11

Just a quick update. Bobo went to the vet today and she still has mange. She will continue with the medication and get checked again in a month. She has generalized mange which takes longer to treat. We may have to consider adopting her in this condition with the understanding that treatment will continue. However she continues to enjoy life, her foster home and the endless cuddles that seem to come her way.

Foster Update, March 22

James, in his infinite wisdom has decided to change the name of Bobo (which is Asian for little steamed bun) to Cuddle Muffin:

"She has now finished her treatment for internal parasites..and respiratory..As you can see she dosent have anymore pustuals, And is growing hair back..She is halfway finished her treatment for demodex

She is such a cuddler and then wild and plays ring around the house with my other male dog. SHe is doing really well on housetraining..And is sooo smart when it time for her treatment she runs into her crate and sits for her medicine... SO she is coming along well..In a week or two I will be getting her spayed."

Introduction, March 12

Bobo came into Toronto Animal Services where foster volunteer James picked her up when she was released to rescue: Here is a quick report from James:

"This is my new foster dog...a 5-6month old pug mix...(chug)..pug chihuahua...Severe demodex Not housetrained yet.... She is sooo friendly...I bet in a bit she will be the cutest dog...when the mange is under control.
