Pork Chop is loving and sweet in a way that you can only appreciate when you spend time with her. This dog doesn't have a sad or mean bone in her body, she radiates joy 24/7. Happy happy happy! We've worked on her nipping and it's improving somewhat. I noticed she lost more teeth so I think her mature teeth are almost all in. She's fairly good in the house, random accidents still happen but not often. She is extremely HIGH ENERGY, she is no couch potato, and will need long walks a couple of times a day, with lots of play time to run or fetch tennis balls (she loves this, fetches like a retriever!). She has a wonderful disposition but is not a low maintenance dog. |
Foster Update - August 9 Porita went in for her vet examination on Tuesday, August 5 She got her vaccines shots and waited around over half hour afterwards, no complications. Heartworm negative, as predicted (not sure she was ever outside!), she’ll start Revolution in a few days to let her vaccines work their way through.Minor puppy anemia, doctor said it’s totally normal in puppies, not a sign of anything ominous or worrisome She is 6 kgs (was 5.6 kgs on Saturday morning), maybe gained a pound of true weight or she was dehydrated, either way it’s good She will be spayed in one month, get her microchip and booster at same time. Teeth good, heart and lungs good, temperament perfect! On Wednesday we got the final test results back from the vet, and she has a UTI. Poor little monkey was suffering valiantly, hardly any accidents at all considering she has an infection. All her bloodwork was fine, as were her stools. She's on Clavamox for 7 days and is doing just great. We've settled into a nice routine and she hasn't had any accidents at all for two straight days. She's more playful now, and full of pep. She absolutely adores playing fetch with tennis balls! She's also learning to "make" on her walks, but more number 2 than number 1, which she still pretty much only does in our yard. She's a fantastic bed buddy, loves to sleep and doesn't get up in the night. But she can be an absolute bed hog!!! She splays herself with four legs stretched as far as they reach, taking up maximum mattress area! It's very funny. Either that or she coils up like a snake, in a tight circle. She's due for a few obedience lessons, she likes to nip when she wants to play (at feet, hands, and calves). She also humps once in a while, but usually without trying to mount. She's very confident and not at all skittish |

Introduction, August 1 Portia was found by one of our pugaluggers, abandoned in a park, tied to a bench, with a bag containing kibble and pee pads. After waiting and asking around, it was obvious that she had been left there. She was covered in feces and urine, dehyrdated and and very thin. She went into a temporary foster home and, after several baths, was soon cuddling and giving kisses. Her first day passed without any accidents in the house and waits until she is outside. After she got a treat the first time for peeing outside, the next time she did it, she looked up, expecting a treat. She is a smart little one. She went next day for a vet checkup and is in all around good health. She is 12 lbs. and has minor luxating patellas The blood and stool test will be coming in next week.Behaviour wise - she gets along with everyone she meets. She sat easily for her vet examination, tail wagging even during the nail trimming. She is puppy friendly with other dogs and found a playmate in the park that she chased and chased. She might be corssed with Bulldog or Boxer. She has the docked tail. But she has the affection of a pug and enjoys nothing better than coming on to your lap, puttin her paws on your chest and giving you kisses |
