Hi Everyone!
Aussie here, just checking in. My Mamma has been bugging me to provide an update on my new life, but I have just been so busy! Between cuddling, playing with my toys, running around and snorting, I just have not found the time to sit still! But here goes--
My new home is the best, my mamma and dad cuddle me and tell me how handsome I am every day. I just love to snuggle right up to their face and lick and lick and lick. When it was bedtime on my first night, I went to go sleep under the bed. My mamma crept beside me, laughed, and asked "What are you doing? Come into the big bed!" It was then that I knew I had found my forever home :) During my first few days I clung to Mamma like her shadow, wherever she went I went. Downstairs, here I come! Into the front room, right there with ya! I'm a bit more independent now, but I still like to velcro myself to my parents ;)
Some of my favourite things to do are play with all the toys. There are toys galore here, sometimes I cannot decide which one to play with so I dive into all the toy baskets and fling them all over the room and bounce from toy-toy; it's so much fun! Also, my new backyard is so big, I get to run around every day with my pug sister. Speaking of which, she is the senior pug here and has shown me the ins and outs; like how to sit pretty so Mamma gives us a carrot when she makes dinner. I can say with pride I have successfully snorted my way into her bed and we cuddle all the time :)
Thank you to everyone who helped me find my forever home, you all do such wonderful and important work. I hope all the pugs in the world are as lucky as me!
Yours truly,
Mr. Oz
Aussie's adoption is pending! Stay tuned for more news soon.
We have been flooded with applications for Aussie. LOTS of them. Which is great, but it means that many people will be disappointed. So please know that if you aren't selected for Aussie, it DOES NOT mean that we think you aren't a suitable home at all. It may not mean that we think you aren't a suitable home for Aussie, even. It only means that only one application can be chosen and sometimes there are two or three or four applications that are excellent and we have to make tough decisions. So don't give up and don't assume. And by all means, look to other rescues. We want our dogs adopted, obviously, but we want any homeless pug or pug mix to find a home.
We are currently reviewing applications for Aussie and will post more updates as they happen.
Aussie is a gentle, sweet boy. We are truly in love with him. Like most pugs, he wants to be at your side, at all times. He is a very active young boy, loves walks and car rides, and just snuggling on our laps. He sleeps in bed with us and cuddles right in for the night. When I hold his little face and tell him how handsome and loved he is, you can see by the sparkle in his eyes that he understands.
Aussie is quite energetic and would be best suited to older children.
Aussie does tend to try to chew/swallow small items that are within reach, such as pencils, buttons, etc. We've learned to make sure that nothing that he can't have is within his reach.
He walks well on a leash, though he would prefer to run instead of walk. At first, he would run circles around us and tie us up in his leash, but he has the hang of it now.
Aussie is great with other dogs and really enjoys the company of others. I can't imagine him living in a home without another canine companion. He loves to play with the resident pugs, and they love his good nature. He is learning to swim in the lake but not yet as fearlessly as the resident pugs that dive right in.
His perfect family would be active, have a fenced yard that he could be regularly exercise in, and another small dog to play with. I can't say enough about this great little guy; we are going to miss Aussie immensely.
Aussie is a two year old male, neutered pug who has been in our care for two weeks. He was surrendered to Pugalug by his owner through no fault of his own. He is a gentle and active little man who just wants to play and have fun. He loves running around our large yard with the resident pugs, chasing them and encouraging them to chase him back. He's definitely keeping everyone in great shape!
Aussie is also a happy, sweet little boy who loves his humans just as much as his fellow dogs. He isn't picky either and loves snuggling up with both children and adults. Although he is crate-trained, he much prefers to snuggle up on the sofa or sleep in the big bed with his humans.
Just recently, Aussie had his well-check appointment at the vet and he behaved very well. He enjoyed the car ride to his appointment, but was quiet throughout the duration of it. He was just a sweetheart at the vet as well and everyone was smitten with him, especially the vet herself! Health-wise, Aussie was already up-to-date on all his vaccinations and there were no apparent concerns during his appointment. We are just waiting for his test results to come back before giving him an official clean bill of health. Once we receive that, Aussie will be available for adoption.
