360 pugs rescued since October, 2005
Onyx came to us through the pug rescue almost 5 1/2 years ago. We could never figure out why anyone would surrender such a sweet little guy.
He was the ideal dog. He wasn't aggressive at all, although he was peppy and walked with a real bounce. From small children to teenagers to seniors in retirement homes, everybody wanted to pet him and he LOVED being petted. He was friendly, warm, and gentle. He followed us faithfully from room to room when we were home and gladly greeted us at the door when we returned from even short absences.
In the last few months, the frailties of old age caught up with him. There were no cures. He was in distress. We couldn't let him suffer any more. The kindest thing was to let him pass.
We are heartbroken and will miss him forever, but we feel so very lucky to have shared our lives with him. Rest in peace, dearest Onyx.
