Roady at the cottage - July 9 He loved romping and chasing Alex in the water. He has fit in as if he has been with us all his life. It was obvious the previous owners had spent a lot of time training him on proper etiquette and behavior. However, he still has that mischievous pug nature and sometimes pretends he doesn't know what you want and is always looking for some extra nourishment. Once on a beach picnic, when we weren't paying attention, he managed to get a whole block of cheese out of our cooler and was really disappointed when we had to confiscate it." |

Roady went to his forever home of June 28th. He will be a part of the Cooke family. The Cooke's lost their little female pug, Ruby, to PDE at 1.5 years and decided to open their home to a rescue pug. They are thrilled with Roady and he will thrive withtheir love and care. He even has his own life jacket for use at the cottage. Roady will have a human brother, Alex and a feline sister, Sheila (although she's not that jazzed about Roady's addition to the house!) Hey, I LIKE it here!! |
Roady - Foster Update, June 22nd Roady is a 5 year old neutered, "black" male. He is actually a beautiful sable colour with a white splotch on his chest, manly parts and white tips on his rear toes. He is also a very big boy at 13.4 kgs. He is very healthy and energetic with a lovely temprament. He knows some tricks (speak and shake a paw) and has some obedience training. He apparently has some hip issues, but they appear to be minor as he can jump onto his foster mother's bed from a standing position (this is a three foot jump). He shows no impaired mobility at all and is not in any pain. The foster mom's vet felt that the hips may be more prone to arthritis later in life as he ages, but with good weight management and regular exercise, he should be fine. He needs to lose a bit of weight, but he is by no means a fatso. He gets along well with dogs, cats and children and is generally a sweet boy who was well cared for in his original home. |

Roady - Introduction, June 18th Roady, a five year old male, has just come into our care. Given up by family who have had him since he was a puppy--purchased from a pet store. They now have two small children and a boxer and it is "too much stress" so he was surrendered to the North Bay Humane Society. He is neutered, inoculated and chipped. House broken, good with dogs, cats and kids--but a humper. He is a big pug but not terribly overweight but will lose some while in foster care. Very mobile and active. |
