Herbie (formerly Tyson) Herbie joins two human siblings, 2 canine siblings (Morty and Roxie) and 3 feline siblings. He is living in beautiful Kawartha. |
Herbie is quite enjoying life beside one of the Kawartha lakes as his new Mom
Deb reports:
"Thought I'd drop you a quick email and give you an update on Herbie. We are still struggling with the eating. We are down to dicing up apples on the kibble so in his effort to get some of the apple he gets some kibble. He loves salmon cookies that we made. He is coming around. We get kisses and he seems excitied when we come in or take him out on a walk. He still doesn't seem to know what to make of the other dogs. He does seem more settled though. We took him down to the water on Friday. We have concrete platforms and as he was touring around he walked off the concrete into the water. In my frantic effort to get out of my chair my coffee went flying and I broke my mug. He swam! He went out about 4 feet and turned around and swam back and I hauled him out of the water. He didn't seem distraught. I think he gets in now though. Stay on the concrete. He is a darling boy." |

Tyson - Foster Update August 27 Tyson is absolutely gorgeous, with the precise characteristics of the ideal pug, with soft silky fur and a wrinkled face that fills with expression when you look at him. Ears lifting and head tilting, he is inquisitive and eager to please. Quite unpuglike, he seems totally disinterested in food, or at least dog food (prefers carrots and broccoli so far). A hefty 38 pounds plus when he came into our care, Tyson doesn't seem to know what to do on walks, but is keen to go out for short trips. Coming from a family of five, Tyson barely knows his name and only responds to sit when given a friendly reminder on his hindquarters. He's probably housebroken, and enjoys puttering around the garden and cocks his leg to pee on the unsuspecting plants. Tyson doesn't quite know what to make of cats, and he is good with other dogs, (he probably will love to frolic when he loses enough weight to do more than waddle), but it's people Tyson is most interested in. Children and adults alike, this pretty boy loves to be stroked, talked to, and (in what seems to be a family trait) have his belly rubbed. His upcoming vet visit will likely confirm that he is free from any health problems other than the need to lose weight, which will come off easily with better nutrition and regular exercise. Anyone interested in adopting this friendly pug will get a dog who will flourish with proper obedience training and lots of love. He's just a lovely puppy, a very, very big puppy. |
