Willow - 4 Year Old Female |
|
At the Rainbow Bridge, September 5, 2012
It is with great sadness that we tell you that Willow went in for her spay surgery today and died in recovery. The vet suspects it may have been a heart attack. She had great blood work, was in good shape due to her foster mother's tremendous care of her, but crashed in recovery after her surgery. There had been no indication that there were any cardiac concerns. The vet tried to revive her for a considerable period of time but without success. Understandably, her foster mother is very upset as are we all. We will have her cremated and her ashes returned to her foster mother. Give some thoughts to her foster mom who is stunned by this loss. |
Foster Update, July 29, 2012
The mystery around whether she is pregnant or not is now solved. She went into heat about a week ago so she will be spayed in about 3 weeks. After that she should be about ready to go. She continues to be just pure joy in a 20 pound package. She loves all people and animals that she runs into. She loves to do the pug dance and she really loves to "hang out" with my 3 lb poodle Simba. She is just basically an entertainment package. She is continuing to get used to walking on a leash and no longer has an issue when we put her harness on. As she has lived her life in challenging circumstances, she is continuing to work on her house training and is making great strides but still has the occasional accident. |
Introduction, June 17, 2012
I would like to introduce Willow the 20lb definition of pure JOY. She is a 4 year old fawn pug with a totally black face. She is a tiny pug and according to the vet she is 1 pound under an ideal weight. She has been with us for a couple of weeks and I can report that I have never met a happier velcro pug in my life. She loves to do the pug dance in the house and outside in the yard. She loves to play with the other dogs in the house as well as the small human kids in the house. Basically she loves everyone and everything and doesn't mind showing it. She has been for her first vet appointment for a meet and greet. Her overall health appears to be quite good. She has borderline dry eyes so she has been started on an inexpensive drop to try to head that issue off before it starts. She will be going to the vet for bloodwork, spaying and a dental in about 4 weeks or so. |
