Stella (aka Godzilla, Zilla) - 2.5 year old female

Stella and her life long friend Carl

Adopted - May 6th

Adopter's Happy Tail

Zilla is doing great! We are calling her Stella, she answers to her new name and has taken no time at all to fit into our family. She is such a cuddler and is never to far from me, weather it be in the house on our walks or in the garden... and she and Carl are still getting along amazingly well together.

Stella is so happy! and smart too! she has taken no time at all to learn shaking each paw, to stop niping and grabing with her mouth- she takes her toys and treats"nice"and gives them back on command. We have meal time for both dogs, Stella has slowed her pace on her eating and is not diving into Carls food when she is done.(Carl is such a slow eater) We are all adjusting well together and so happy she is part of our family!

Requirements:

Zilla has received all positive reports from the vet and has been micro chipped and is up to date on all her vaccines. Shes ready for furever.

She is a gorgeous, healthy young girl, who enjoys dog and human company, but is not always at my heels. Shes inquisitive and bright and knows basic commands, but could flourish with further formal training. I have no idea how she would be with cats.

Zilla has become more comfortable in her foster home and has become a bit barky. She has the impression she is a guard dog and informs us of everything that is going on around the house, as well as a few minutes of barking when shes left behind (either in her crate or when we leave home). She needs a home to be vigilant about keeping her weight at a healthy level - she has lost over 2 pounds over the last year, and the vet identified a creaky right knee that should not have the strain of added weight.

Zilla should have a dog companion or someone who will leave her alone at home no more than 4 hours at a stretch she was given into rescue because she was alone for long stretches. She has shown a marked preference of playing with female dogs and gets quite barky and frustrated if they dont join in the play.

Zilla has been reported to be an escape artist. She does not as much try to escape as she doesnt want to be left behind, so shes very quick about zipping through open doors. Adopters will need to have lots of chewing toys and bones available this girls like to chew. Zilla is a bit of a bull in a china shop and could easily knock a little one over. She uses her mouth to play and tiny fingers would be hurt. She would destroy all toys left where she could get to them.

Update - April 16

Zilla, continues to fit wonderfully into the house. She is a healthy, well-adjusted, happy girl. Her tongue often peeps out of her mouth, and co-ordinates nicely with her pink harness. She sleeps well in the crate, eats well, poops and pees outside quickly, walks nicely on a leash, plays appropriately with other dogs in the park and enjoys being close to people. She's quite rough on her toys and appreciates a variety of things to chew.

Zilla can be a bit of a barker, but is to appropriate dog barking things - people coming to the door, reminding you that you forgot to take the dog with you to work, or up to bed with you, making sure you notice people and animals on the other side of the street. Once she knows she's been heard, she quiets down.

Zilla will be going to the vet Thursday for an examination and microchipping, and will likely be available for adoption shortly afterwards.

Introduction April 9

Godzilla (Zilla) has arrived, and she and Jackson have been romping all over the house. She has nicely shared all her toys with Jackson, and is exploring Jackson's toys. While she doesn't appreciate being humped, and told him so, she already initiates play with her foster brother.

Zilla is panting and drinking a lot of water, and even threw up a little when she first got here, but that's likely the excitement and stress of her move. When she first arrived, she sniffed up the front yard and peed to great appreciation. She has come when called and sat when asked, but has generally been far too busy exploring to listen to many commands.

Zilla is at the top end of healthy weight, with a large white patch on her chest and one "Michael Jackson glove" white paw. Let's see how the night goes.
