Zoey - 7 year old black female |

Zoey finds a loving embrace Zoey's new home is with Terry, Inge and a 2 year old playfult poodle named Murphy. Terry and Inge had previously adopted Barnaby after waiting for about 8 months to adopt. However, due to agression and biting issures that arose recently in Barnaby's behaviour, they had to return him to Pugalug Pug Rescue. As a result, of having to give up their pug through no fault of their own, we felt their home would be the best for Zoey |

Zoey is Ready Adoption Fee: $300 Basically Zoey would do well anywhere, she is very adaptive. I think that she would be happiest in a home where her people were active and willing to take her for long walks (on most days). In addition, she has also requested a home where there is another dog that would be willing to play with her.......she tries with my guys but they are just too old to humour her for long. The other things that Zoey really likes are small children and she definitely prefers men to women...she does however love everyone and everything that she meets. She continues to be a very good dog. The only thing to be wary about with Zoey is that she is on a constant hunt for food (she eats so quickly that it's like watching a vaccuum) She also finds dust bunnies and wrappers to be part of her food groups. |
Foster Update - Oct 5 Last night at the park Zoey was playing with her new friends. She was playing with 2 ferrets. Also, Zoey went to the vet today for her dental appointment. She did really well under anesthetic. She had no issues with it or any kind of after effects. The downside of the dental was that she went in for a cleaning but has come back minus 7 teeth and drops for a new ear infection. She is taking it all in stride and is doing really well tonight. She is eating and drinking well and is in very good spirits considering what she has been through today. Siobhan |
Foster Update - Sept 25 First of all, she is absolutely perfect. She gets along very well with other dogs (she is very good with my Samoyed). When we bring her to the park, she is friendly with all other dogs and people. At home she absolutely loves my daughter and will actually seek her out to play (whereas my Jaden tolerates my 2 year old, Zoey genuinely loves her) Zoey seems to be particularly fond of men. Even though she has had some recent turmoil in her life, she really rolls with the punches and is really just a little bundle of love. You can tell that she has always been treated well. Here are the facts on Zoey: We took her to the vet on Thursday to get her needles, microchip and get her fully checked out. Her fecal and heartworm tests were both negative. Her weight is perfect. The only challenge that the vet saw is that she could use a dental cleaning (the vet doesn't feel that any extractions are required but she has very tartar covered molars) The only issue we have had with Zoey is that she is a dominant dog and she is very food protective. Being an only dog, the situation most likely never occured at ther previous home. |
Transporter's Update - September 15 Transport volunteer, Tracy, is housing Zoey until her foster home is ready. She sends us this little peak at Zoey: "Zoey has arrived safe and sound! I think I'm in love.... What an absolute doll she is!! She has been having a complete blast since she arrived. She loves all the pugs and the cats, even Mom's ShihTzu. She checked out the entire house in seconds. She was no trouble in the car, laid down in the passenger seat and slept, (wish mine would do that) She is great about going outside, in fact she likes to go out side, (wish mine would do that). She's lovin all the toys, has most of them out all over the place, guess she's trying to find on she like's best. Not to keen on sharing or playing tuggy though, she growls but the tail still wags. |

Introduction - September 15 She is very friendly, housebroken and good with cats. She is an owner surrender. Her original owner passed away. Her last home she was at for 2 years and due to unseen circumstances they feel it is unfair to Zoey as she's not getting the attention they feel she deserves. We will have a foster update and picture in a couple of days |
